Digital Story

The assignment we completed this quater was called iMovie. We were told to create a one minute long story/special moment of our lives. We had to include photos of that moment. We also had to include a title and 3 or more different effects. We also had to include an audio somewhere throughout our movie.

My digital story is about my sweet 16. My theme colors were peridot and hot pink. I used images of those people who shared that special moment of my life with me, like my parents and my court of honor. I also had a picture of my cake. The images that I chose I will never forget about. My sweet 16 is something I can describe very good as in sight and emotions.

I chose this story because it’s something I’m going to remember for the rest of my life. It was also a day I was waiting for since I was younger. It’s very important to me. Although it’s about to be a year since it happened, it feels as if it was just yesterday.

I think I did fair because I described my sweet16 good, even though it was hard to make it into a minute long. I liked iMovie for the fact you can play around with words and your pictures. In the future I would enjoy and like to take more time with iMovie and become better at so my movies would look more exciting and cute.

PhotoGraphic Truth Project

In our PhotoGraphic Truth Project we were told to choose a real world event. We had to choose 6 pictures of that event and include ourselves in it. We had to do it as realistic as possible. Our pictures had to be 7 inches by 5 inches or 5 inches by 7 inches. After we were done with PhotoShop we had to print the images and cut them out. Then we had to create a layer of an white poster that as 30 in by 22 in. Then  we had to paste our images into the white poster to create our book. From these project I learned that PhotoGraphic Truth might not always be true -- they're might be false images that might seem realistic to us. For example earlier last week when Real Madrid lost to Barcelona 5-0 they're was a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo with his arms on his waist with a really pissed off face ad 4 Barcelona players putting 5 fingers up -- trying to rub it in his face. I think this image is not true at all because it wasn't seen after they were done playing.

My book was based on women's soccer. My pictures were color pictures so it made it easy to add myself. I used a lot of scale to make my self bigger or smaller. I also used blur to make myself blurry since the background of that picture was blurry so I wanted to become part of the background. I only used two pictures throughout my project.

My theme was soccer. I choose soccer because i can relate to soccer a lot, since that's my hobby. I also choose a lot of soccer teams' pictures because i know what type of pose i have to do since i've taking many team pictures.

In PhotoGraphic Truth not all the pictures that you might see in the near future can be true. You can include yourself in a picture with your favorite celebrity and anybody would believe you. I didn't learn anything new from PhotoShop because I used all the techniques I had already learned earlier this year but i learned not to believe every images I see in the internet for example on Goggle.com -- many images might be edited by Photoshop to make it as realistic as possible. I didn't  think it was that difficult. The only difficult part was choosing what my theme was going to be and also how to blend myself in so it wouldn't be so obvious. I think I was successful but not as great. Im going to try to use real soccer materials next time.

Lyrical Triptych Reflection

In our second project assignment for our class we had to create a 'Lyrical Triptych'. We had to choose a songs' lyrics and choose 3 lines that we wanted to show through pictures.  Our Lyrical Triptych had to contain three 5in x 7in panels. Each panel had to contain atleast 3 different pictures combined. We had to use a filter in atleast one of our panels. Also, we had to use Adjustments ---> Variations atleast once.     First, I choose a song that made me visualize a lot when I hear it. Second, I set up my triptychs - making sure i had (3) 5in x 7in panels with a resolution of 300. Next , I overlooked the phrases of my lyrics and googled images that came to mind. Then, i choose images that looked good when they were combined. Then I  re-sized the images to make them the right dimensions. Finally, I combined my images together in each panel and made them look pretty. Also, I had to make sure I had all the requirements that were needed.

The song I chose is called 'Found' By HillSong United. Yes, it's a Christian song. I enjoy to listen to it. It helps me clear up my mind. The words make me think about things around me.  My triptych has a lot of images on top of eachother. It looks very peaceful. It's also very religious. I used opacity a lot too. I used the same font in every panel. I just changed the color of it. The words are also the same size. I used filter in the last triptych in the little girl thats praying. I made her stand out more. I used adjustments by making the background in the last tryptych look more green-ish yellow-ish so it can also stand out more.

I created images that would reflect to the lyrics by simply thinking about what the lyrics made me think of. I used images that would make me think of peace, loneliness, and love. My pictures were mostly about praising God. The song was about God so I wanted to get that point through. My pictures were all very religious except for the backgrounds.

My experience with Adobe Photoshop this year has been very exciting. Little by little im learning how to get used to all the tools. I'm better than what I was in our last project. I like it because we can make a simply picture to a whole different picture. We can resize a image, change the color, add writting, change the opacity, cut things out of a picture , and many more things. At first I thought it was a very difficult program , but once you get used to it , its pretty easy. Im becoming alittle bit more creative then what I first was. I think I was more sucessful in the Lyrical Triptych then the Magazine Cover. In this assigment I was more creative and made it look more realistic. I think I was sucessful because I used every tool that I had to use in order to receive a good grade. If I were to do this assignment again I would change the background a little so it could look better when I printed it out.

Magazine Cover Reflection

In this project we were told to design a  magazine cover of yourself. We had to choose something we liked to do or our future careers.  The title, background, and pictures had to be 8 x 10 and with a resolution of 300 pixels. We had to choose a topic in order to get a actual magazine name on google.com. After we chose our magazine name we took a picture of our selfs with appropriate attire for our magazine. Then we had to cut and paste our picture to our photoshop document. After we had our picture and magazine name we needed a barcode ( also taken out of google.com ) and captions/headlines. We can choose all kinds of fancy fonts and colors. Finally, we can add any shadings or additional effects to make our magazine cove look realistic.

My magazine cover is about soccer. It has a soccer field in the background. There's also 2 white nets on the background. I am standing by one of them. I am standing with one hand on my waist and my opposite foot is on a white, black, & yellow soccer ball. My magazine is called "Sports" with a yellow colored font. The main colors on my magazine cover is black, yellow, and green.

Throughout my magazine I was trying to get threw that soccer is not only a guys sport. Its unisex , both guys and girls. There is a lot of women in the world that are great soccer players, who make it to being pro-athletes. Some are even payed by coaches to play in their teams. As props i used a soccer ball and a soccer field. I represent all the women in the world who play soccer.

I personally think i could of done better. I could of actually wore soccer attire so i could of looked more of a soccer player. I could of also included more writting in my cover , so it can look like a real magazine. I think thats the only 2 things that bothered me and made me feel insecure of my project. Other than that I think my project was a descent piece of work. It wasent my bestest but what matters is i atleast gave it a try.
